Blue Tier Reserve Walks

The Blue Tier Reserve is an exposed plateau with a rich mining and natural heritage, managed by Forestry Tasmania. There is a range of walks from a short 400m circuit, which is wheelchair friendly, to a 10.5km walk one-way to Weldborough for the more adventurous.

A walk to the summit of Mt Poimena, which has excellent views over the Blue Tier and to the coast.

A shared track with mountain bikes, as well as a demanding walk, passing through regenerating rainforests, old mine workings, and the remains of numerous water races.

A shared track with mountain bikes, the track takes you past the Nicholls sawmill site as well as through mature rainforest and over Wellington Creek.

A climb to the summit of Mt Michael, this challenging walk is more suited to sturdy shoes as the descent is quite steep.
