Fishing is a very popular sport on the East Coast of Tasmania with a variety of both freshwater and saltwater fishing available.

You need a licence to be able to fish inland waterways. For more details click here.

 

You do not need a licence to fish with hook and line in marine waters but you do need to comply with state fishing regulations regarding size, bag and possession limits. For a comprehensive list of these regulations click here.
