Visiting Our Region
Tasmania's East Coast is a large area encompassing many delightful towns, beautiful beaches and some of the top locations for visitors not to miss. The northern municipality of Tasmania’s East Coast - The Break O'Day includes the coastal towns of St Helens, Scamander and Binalong Bay as well as the iconic Bay of Fires and the pristine Mount William National Park.
Further inland to the north there is Pyengana and Weldborough surrounded by a variety of natural and historic activities including myrtle forests, the Blue Tier and the fantastic St Columba Falls.
Inland to the South there is St Marys, Fingal, Cornwall, Mangana and Mathinna towns steeped in history.
Near these towns there is also an abundance of natural beauty including the White Knights at Evercreech, the tallest white gums in the world.
The southern municipality of Tasmania's East Coast is Glamorgan Spring Bay with the coastal towns of Bicheno, Coles Bay and Triabunna and the spectacular Freycinet National Park incorporating the world-famous Wineglass Bay.
The towns of Swansea and Buckland possess a wealth of history including convict and colonial buildings such as the Spiky Bridge and St John the Baptist church at Buckland.
Just off the coast there is also Maria Island renowned for its convict heritage, interesting geology and abundant wildlife.
