Weldborough

Weldborough is a small town with a big history.

A visit to Weldborough should include:
A walk through the myrtle forest at Weldborough Pass
A visit to the Chinese cemetery at Moorina, a small town just north of Weldborough
For those with more stamina - a ride on the cycling track from Weldborough to the Blue tier
A visit to the Mt Paris Dam

Another notable thing about Weldborough is the Weldborough Pass which contains large tree ferns growing on either side of the road.  Weldborough was first known as Thomas Plains, named after an early surveyor. The town was originally proposed for rural development but was turned over to mining concerns after the discovery of tin.
